This policy covers visits to evidique and direct email exchanges with the editor. It does not control the privacy practices of software vendors or other sites we link to.
What evidique collects
The site is statically generated and does not maintain its own visitor database. evidique does not ask visitors to create an account, post a comment, submit a web form, or provide payment details.
If you email us, we receive the address, message, attachments, and any information you choose to include. Avoid sending passwords, payment-card numbers, or other sensitive information.
Cloudflare hosting data
Cloudflare hosts, delivers, and protects the site. When your browser requests a page, Cloudflare may process technical information such as IP address, request time, requested URL, browser and device details, network identifiers, and security signals needed to serve content and detect abuse.
Cloudflare controls its infrastructure logs and retention practices under its own privacy terms. evidique does not copy those request logs into a separate audience database.
Cookies, accounts, and analytics
evidique currently sets no first-party advertising or analytics cookies and runs no analytics, behavioral profiling, or session-replay script. There is no login or newsletter submission endpoint.
Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security mechanisms when required to protect the service. If evidique later adds analytics, subscriptions, or optional cookies, this policy and the relevant consent controls will be updated before those features are enabled.
On-device search
Site search uses Pagefind. Your browser downloads a static search index and performs the query on your device. evidique does not receive or store the words you type into the search box.
Email communications
We use email information to read and answer corrections, questions, access offers, and other messages. We do not add a sender to a marketing list merely because they contacted us.
Messages may be retained while they remain useful for the conversation, editorial record, dispute handling, security, or legal obligations. You may request deletion, subject to records we must reasonably keep.
External and affiliate links
Links may take you to a vendor, documentation site, or affiliate destination. Once you leave evidique, the third party may collect data or set cookies under its own policy. Review those terms before providing personal information or making a purchase.
evidique does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. More detail about commercial links appears in theaffiliate disclosure.
Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, technical delivery and security processing is based on the legitimate interest in operating a safe, reliable publication. Email processing is based on responding to your request, taking steps you ask us to take, or the same legitimate interest in maintaining editorial records.
Consent will be requested before introducing optional processing where consent is legally required. You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time.
Retention and international processing
evidique keeps personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose described above, including security, editorial accountability, and legal obligations. Hosting providers may process technical data in countries other than your own using the safeguards described in their terms.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing. You may also have the right to complain to a local data-protection authority.
California residents may request information about covered personal information and may request correction or deletion where applicable. evidique will not discriminate against you for making a valid privacy request. We may need enough information to verify the request and protect another person's data.
Children
evidique is written for adults choosing professional software and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Security and changes
We use a static architecture and Cloudflare's delivery controls to reduce the amount of visitor data held by evidique. No internet service can promise perfect security, so please use care when sending information by email.
This policy may change when the site, providers, or legal requirements change. Material updates will appear on this page with a revised effective date before or when the new practice begins.
